A Full Range Of Probate Services
Currently supporting a large number of law firms in the UK and with over 20 years’ experience working alongside solicitors and legal professionals, we are experts at providing a full range of services including, HMRC compliant probate reports of chattels and property, detailed reports including bequests, gifts and deceased wishes, sale of houses or commercial premises through auction or via one of our network of estate agents, full probate house clearance services, complete reinstatement of land, garden and grounds, will search, document retrieval, trauma and deep cleaning, vehicle disposal and sale.
Accurate & Compliant IHT Reports
Particular care is taken when appraising low value house contents or chattels as we are fully aware that Inland Revenue are more likely to question what could be a borderline IHT tax liability especially if carried out or submitted by anybody other than a qualified valuer. We are proud to say that to date we have a 100% record with HMRC.
Credible HMRC Probate Valuations
As a result, the valuations we provide are less likely to be questioned by HMRC, and other official organisations, which makes the task of winding up an estate as efficient as possible for solicitors and executors. Our valuations can be provided at all levels, from normal homes to very high net worth estates.
Where necessary, we can also assist with our will finding service (a physical search) prior to a valuation and complete house clearance, thereby ensuring that if there is a “last will and testament” within the belongings it is not lost.
Valuation Of Fine Arts and Collectables
We value fine art, paintings, stamp coin and book collections, toys, militaria, valuable antiques and furniture, classic and veteran cars for the purposes of probate, and after such appraisals, we will provide a detailed and itemised “Written Probate Valuation”.
Our report is prepared in accordance with S. 160 of the Inheritance Tax Act (1984), and HM Revenue and Customs guidelines. Works of art, all of our valuations are carried out by RICS Valuers so that antiques and higher value items are always assessed accurately.
We are able to advise our clients of the best provincial and city auction houses, and arrange the transportation of antiques and art directly and on your behalf. Our approach and advice can help to maximise sale proceeds, (and client satisfaction) which, of course is in the best interest of the deceased estate and beneficiaries.
We are aware that solicitors and executors will want to avoid the risk of challenge by HMRC and that the circumstances where probate valuation is required are often difficult, so we do our utmost to provide highly professional support, the highest level of expertise and service with integrity, empathy and discretion.
