Clearance Requirements
We were instructed by our client, a major engineering firm, to completely clear the contents of a property in Hervey Close Finchley. The property had been used by the company to house specialist staff brought in to the UK to work on engineering projects, but was no longer required and was to be sold. We were required to remove all the furniture and clean the property. We were requested to remove the furniture but to leave the carpets and curtains, and to ensure that the property was secure and ready for viewings by estate agents.
Clearance Overview
We started work at 7.15 am, and cleared out a large amount of furniture, including 3 beds, cupboards, a lounge suite, bookshelves, table lamps, a broadband router, a wall unit, desks chairs, and tables. Because the entrance and hallway were narrow, we were careful not to damage the walls. We were fortunate to be able to park in front of the house, and arranged temporary parking permits with the local authority. After removing the washing machine we checked for leaks and shut off the water supply. We then gave the property a clean and left it neat and tidy. By 5.15 pm we had completed the job and took the keys to a local estate agent, who then inspected the property and declared that it was ready for viewings by prospective purchasers.
Disposal of Contents
The furniture, which was mainly modern, was in very good condition and we were able to arrange for its re-sale in local charity shops. In this case we were pleased to be able to say that nothing at all went to landfill and everything, was re-used.
