Clearance Requirements
This terraced house was located on Cranbrook Park in Wood Green, London, and we were hired by an estate agent who was in charge of getting the property on the market at the request of the owner. It was a very attractive period property, but inside it had been neglected because the previous owners had been very ill. He asked us to clear out the entire property and to also provide it with a deep clean so that it was ready to be sold.
Clearance Overview
On-street parking was available when we parked our vehicles outside the property just before 7.30am. After carrying out a quick appraisal of the property we set to work, and within a few hours we had already made very good progress. It was clear that the property had suffered neglect over the years, but it was nothing that we could not handle. We had to be careful to watch out for broken bottles and splinters on the furniture because many of the items were very old and some were broken. In the kitchen we cleared out all of the cabinets and removed the white goods so that it was ready for us to clean. We finished removing all of the contents, including the curtains and carpets, by 3.30pm, and we then began work on the deep clean. We used a range of industrial cleaning equipment to go over the entire property, and by the time we had finished it was in a fantastic condition.
Disposal of Contents
We loaded everything into our closed unmarked vans for the sake of the owners privacy, which is our standard practice. Some of the contents that we removed were suitable for reusing, including the small tables, a chest of draws, bookshelves and the sofa. However, many of the items had suffered neglect, so where we could not donate them to charity we made sure they were recycled where possible to minimise the amount sent to landfill.
