Clearance Overview
We were instructed to clear the house and garden of a 7 bedroom terraced house in Gloucester Crescent, Camden NW1. This was a very large property consisting of 4 floors, including the basement. We often find that we are requested to carry out house clearance after we value house contents for probate, but in this case a property clearance was the only requirement.
Clearance Requirements
The owner was converting the house from an office to a residential home for him and his family, and he asked us to remove entirely all the office furniture, computers, tables, chairs, and other items and leave the property entirely clear. He also asked us to strip out the carpets, as the property’s interior was to be completely remodelled, with a new bathroom and kitchen and interior layout. The garden was covered in decking which was in poor condition and we removed this and restored the garden to its original state, ready for turf to be laid.
We arrived at the site at 7 a.m and parked in the off street parking in the front forecourt. We worked continuously throughout the day with a team of 6 men and the house was fully clear and ready to be handed to the owner by 8pm
Disposal of Contents
The office furniture was in good condition, and we were able to donate it to local charities. There was a considerable amount of paper waste, which we were requested to shred for reasons of confidentiality. We provided written confirmation that this had been done. A small amount of the contents were sent to our recycling centre, but we were able to reuse most of the items.

Additional Information
A neighbour told us that Gloucester Crescent is so named because it is near the Gloucester Gate in Regents Park, which ws named after Princess Mary, the Duchess of Gloucester, in the 18th century. It is without doubt the most elegant street in Camden, and we were not surprised to learn that properties often change hands for £10 million or more.
