As many of our clients have never dealt with probate or used a house clearance company before, we found that it was helpful to outline a previous house clearance in Tottenham we carried out recently. This gives new clients some understanding of the clearance process and pricing. If you have any probate requirements or looking to have a house clearance in Tottenham or surrounding areas then for free advice without obligation, you can call our valuers London Office on 0208 640 0044.
We also carry out property valuation for probate and house contents valuation for probate purposes in the Tottenham area.
CLEARANCE DATE: 25th October 2012
PROPERTY LOCATION: Parkhurst Road, Tottenham, London, N17
CLEARANCE TYPE: Full house clearance
PROPERTY TYPE: 3-bedroom house
Clearance Requirements
This terraced house on Parkhurst Road in Tottenham, London, N17, was owned by our client, but he had been letting it out to tenants for the past five years. Now he was going travelling abroad for a few years and wanted to leave the property empty while he was away. He asked us to remove everything from the property, disconnect the gas cooker, isolate the electrics and cut off the water supply.
Clearance Overview
On-street parking was available outside the property when we arrived, so as soon as we parked our vans we got to work on the clearance. The client stayed present for most of the day, and he pointed out a few items that he wanted to keep. He asked us to put them up in the loft for him, so we agreed to do this and there were not too many items to store away. We arranged for a Gas Safe registered engineer to come around at 11.00am to disconnect the cooker, and once he had done that we removed it. We cleared out everything from the bedrooms, living room and kitchen, which mostly consisted of old household effects that the previous tenants had left behind, as well as lots of items of furniture that the owner did not want to keep. Once the house was clear, we checked the plumbing for leaks then cut off the water supply and isolated the electrics so that our client would be able to go travelling knowing that he had nothing to worry about.
Disposal of Contents
Nearly all of the furniture was still in a good condition, so rather than throwing this out we made sure that we donated everything we could to a local charity shop, and we separated some other items from the clearance to donate to the Salvation Army. There was not much left over when we had donated everything, but what was left we sent to our local recycling centre.
Client Comments
Our client thanked us for a very professional and carefully-executed clearance, which he admitted we completed a lot quicker than he thought we would.
