Clearance Requirements
The owner of this flat on Wellesley Street in Stepney called us to ask whether we provided flat clearances when there were large items to remove. He said that he had a piano inside the flat, and he had no idea how to get it down the stairs. We said that we were happy to arrange the clearance for him, and we also arranged to provide a deep clean of the property as well.
Clearance Overview
Parking was available outside the flat so we were able to remove the contents without any difficulty. The first thing that we did was to tackle the piano. It was a standard-sized piano, and although it was very heavy we were able to remove it from the flat. The hardest part was carrying it down the stairs to the ground floor, but we worked together as a team and made sure that safety was always our top priority. In the end it took less than an hour to load it into the van. We then set about cleaning the rest of the flat. There was a lot of general clutter and other items of furniture to remove, but we worked methodically and carefully, and by lunchtime we had made very good progress. We removed the final item of furniture from the flat at 3.00pm, and then cleaned it throughout, getting into every corner and leaving it sparking clean by the time the client returned.
Disposal of Contents
The piano was still in a very good condition, so we arranged to sell this and use the money to reduce the cost of the flat clearance for the client. The furniture that could be reused was donated to three local charity shops, so we managed to get rid of everything that was in a good condition instead of sending it to landfill.
