Clearance Requirements
We were asked to clear this terraced house located on Lady Aylesford Avenue which is a quiet street in Stanmore, HA7. Our client for the clearance was a solicitor who was working on behalf of the owner. He informed us that there was a lot of clutter and general items that had to be removed, and there was also some furniture that he asked us to take to a nearby storage unit.
Clearance Overview
We started the clearance by separating out the furniture to take to the storage unit. This consisted of a sofa, chest of draws, table and six chairs along with some paintings and ornaments from the living room. After we had separated these items, we removed all of the other things from inside the house. There were lots of rooms, and most of them had many items, most of which was just general clutter so we boxed these up and loaded them into the vans. We made good progress, and in the afternoon we came across a box of jewellery in one of the bedrooms, which included a gold ring and a locket. We separated these to show our client at the end so he could tell us what he wanted us to do with it. When we had removed everything, we gave the flat a quick clean throughout to leave it looking presentable. Our client came around to the flat to check it over and gave us the all clear, and we left just after 6.00pm.
Disposal of Contents
Our client said that we could try to sell the jewellery if we wanted to if it would mean reducing the cost of the clearance, so we did that and managed to save him some money. We delivered all of the furniture to keep to the storage unit, and anything else that was in a good condition we took to a local charity shop and donated. Some things had to be recycled because they were not fit to be donated, but we managed to keep waste to a minimum so that we could stick to our green policy.
Client Comments
Once he had checked over the property, our client said that he was so pleased that he would be calling us again a few weeks later to arrange a clearance for another of his clients.
