Clearance Requirements
Our client was the owner of this four-bedroom house on Dunsmure Road in the Stamford Hill area of London, and he required our help to clean out his property before he could put it on the market. He was planning to redecorate the property, and he also wanted to fit a new kitchen, so he asked us to remove the kitchen cabinets during the clearance, which we agreed to do.
Clearance Overview
On-street parking was available outside the building so we were able to park our vans very close to the house. We started work on the clearance at 7.00am, and planned to finish before 6.00pm. We began in the kitchen where we removed the fridge, freezer, electric cooker, microwave and other appliances that were still there. We cleared out all of the cabinets, and then used tools to remove these from the walls so that by the end the kitchen was completely empty and ready for renovating. The other rooms provided us with no difficulties, and it was a fairly simple clearance by our standards. The house was tidy, and it was simply a case of removing the furniture and loading it up into the van. We completed the downstairs area first, then cleared out the bedrooms upstairs. This took most of the afternoon as we had to dismantle the large double beds before we could remove them through the door. We ended up finishing the job at 5.30pm, which was ahead of schedule.
Disposal of Contents
Some of the contents that we removed was not fit for anything other than being either recycled or sent to landfill as waste, but this was thankfully only a very small amount. We managed to find a new home for most of the furniture, which included donating the sofa, chairs and table from the living room to a local charity.
