Clearance Requirements
Parking was available just around the corner from the flat, so there was a bit more walking to do to remove the objects. However, this was not a problem and did not add on much time to the length of the clearance.
The flat had been left in quite a bad way. The structure was fine, and all of the fittings seemed to be okay, but some of the furniture had been quite badly damaged. We removed all the furniture and effects from the living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms, working quickly but efficiently and with great care not to disturb other residents of the building and the people using the pavement outside.
The locksmith arrived in the afternoon to change all of the locks on the front door, which did not take long to sort out. We then cleaned the flat throughout, paying particular attention to the carpets, which had become slightly stained.
Clearance Overview
We were required to clear all the contents, apart from the kitchen appliances. Most of the household effects had already been removed, and we were left with the residue, which included some large items of furniture and general household contents. There was plenty of parking space available, but the area was a residents only parking zone. Fortunately, the property owner was able to provide us with temporary permits for the day.
Disposal of Contents
Some of the things that we removed from the flat were not in a great condition, and where they could not be reused we separated them to be recycled. Fortunately, many of the items were suitable for recycling, enabling us to stick to our strict environmental policy of reusing or recycling as much as possible. Everything was removed from the property in our closed unmarked vans for the privacy of the client, as is always our policy.
