CLEARANCE DATE: 29th October 2012
PROPERTY LOCATION: Cambridge Road, Seven Kings, London, IG3
CLEARANCE TYPE: Full House Clearance
PROPERTY TYPE: 4-Bedroom-House
Clearance Requirements
This house clearance involved clearing a large terraced house on Cambridge Road, which is located in Seven Kings in Greater London. Our client was the owner of the property, who had inherited it a few months ago and was now keen to sell it. A large quantity of general household effects and furniture remained inside, and he asked us to remove everything. He also asked us to isolate the electrics and cut off the water supply because there was a chance that the house would remain unoccupied for a number of months.
Clearance Overview
The house had a driveway so we were able to park our vehicles when we arrived just after 7.30am. We immediately started clearing the property, with one team working in the kitchen and the other in the living room.
In the kitchen, we removed the washing machine, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, but left the gas cooker in place. There was also a microwave that was in very good condition, and a set of bowls and plates that was certainly reusable.
In the living room there was a large L-shaped sofa and a table with six chairs, all of which were in a very good condition. The previous occupants had built up a large VHS collection, so we separated these to be donated even though most people watch DVDs these days.
As well as the bedrooms, there was also a conservatory to be cleared, although there were not too many items inside. One of the bedrooms had been affected by dampness, and the general contents inside had also been affected as a result.
After removing everything from the interior, we cut off the water supply and isolated the electrics so that the house could remain unoccupied without any problems arising.
Disposal of Contents
The sofa, microwave and table with six chairs were all donated to a nearby charity shop, which was very happy to receive them and assured us that they would be able to sell them to raise some money. We also found new homes for a number of other items, including the large VHS collection. We left the curtains behind to make the properly look occupied, but everything else was removed. Only a small percentage of the contents had to be disposed of at landfill, and the rest was recycled.
Client Comments
The owner thanked us for carrying out such a professional and proficient service. He also promised that he would be recommending us to anyone else he knew who needed to arrange a house clearance.
