Clearance Requirements
Our client was the owner of this very large semi-detached house on Foxley Lane in Purley, London, CR8. His father had passed away and now he was planning to move into the property. However, first he wanted to renovate the kitchen so he asked us to remove all of the cabinets from the kitchen during the clearance, which we were happy to do.
Clearance Overview
The property had its own driveway so we were able to park outside and this made clearing the contents a lot quicker. The house was a lovely old property, and to ensure that we did not damage the house in any way, we placed plywood protection around the front door. We then began work on the clearance and started with the living room.
There were a number of items of furniture in the living room, some of which were in a very good condition. We removed these quickly but carefully, and for the larger items such as the table we had to use a few members of the team. There was a large collection of books that took up all the space on the shelving unit, so we boxed all of these away and then dismantled the unit to remove it from the property.
In the kitchen we completely cleared all of the white goods and the crockery, bowls and plates from the cupboards. We then carefully took down the cabinets as requested to that a new kitchen could be fitted.
We then cleared the rest of the property and finished the job just before 6.00pm. The client then returned and we handed back the keys.
Disposal of Contents
We removed a lot of items from the house during the clearance, and we arranged these to send to various places. Our aim is always to avoid as much waste as possible, so we found a few local charities and asked them if they would be happy to receive the reusable contents as donations. They were happy to accept many of the items, which is great because we did not have to throw them away. We also sent some of the contents to our recycling centre to reduce waste further.
