Clearance Requirements
Our client was an estate agent charged with selling this third-floor flat on behalf of the owner. We had actually worked with the estate agent on another house clearance a few months earlier and they had chosen to use our services once again.
The owner had already removed any of the items that he wanted to keep for himself, so we were charged with clearing everything else from the property, giving it a deep clean, and isolating the electrics and the water supply, all of which we planned to do in a single day.
Clearance Overview
Residents’ parking was available on the street outside the building when we arrived, so using a borrowed permit we experienced no difficulties parking our vehicles. We set about clearing the flat as soon as the estate agent had provided us with the keys, and we began to make good progress throughout the morning.
The only difficulty of this job was that the stairwell in the building was very small, so for the larger items this was slightly tricky. However, due to our extensive experience in clearing flats in much more difficult situations, this did not pose any problems whatsoever. For the larger items we simply dismantled them carefully and then reassembled them to load them into the vans outside.
After removing everything from the flat, including the white goods, we cleaned the entire property. It was not particularly large so this only took a few hours, and we made sure that every single corner was cleaned to leave it looking like new. After that we isolated the electrics and cut off the water supply as requested, and then we handed the keys back to the estate agent.
Disposal of Contents
Most of the items that we removed were either suitable for reusing or recycling. Of those that could be reused, many were sent to a selection of charities in the area. We also sent some items of furniture to a local youth centre where they were welcomed. All of the remaining contents were sent to be recycled.
Client Comments
The estate agent was very impressed by the quality of the clearance and deep clean, and confirmed that he would be using our services again in the future.
