Clearance Requirements
Our client contacted us to arrange a full clearance of his flat on Bruton Street in Mayfair, London, W1. The flat had been owned by his parents who had now moved into a home for the elderly, and he wanted to remove all of the goods so that they could sell it.
There were still a lot of personal items in the flat, which he had marked up to keep. However, the rest of the furniture and general effects were to be cleared, and he told us that we could sell any items that we wanted in order to reduce the cost of the clearance.
Clearance Overview
There was no parking outside the front of the building, but we were able to park our vehicles behind it so that we did not have to carry the furniture and effects too far. We started the clearance at 9am, and by midday we had cleared the kitchen and the living room. We came across a number of paintings and some china ornaments, which we decided to sell to offset the cost of the clearance. We separated out all of the furniture and personal belongings that the owners wanted to keep, and took the rest of the items to our closed unmarked vans outside.
After removing all of the white goods from the kitchen, we cleared out the bedrooms and all of the furniture and general household contents that we found within them. We finished the clearance just after 4pm, and our client returned to inspect the property
Disposal of Contents
We took the personal furniture and other belongings to a nearby storage facility where the client was planning to sort through them at a later date. We then took all of the items that we had marked as for sale to our processing centre, and we were able to sell all of these to reduce the cost of the clearance. We donated the items that we did not want to sell to a local charity, and the remaining items were taken to our recycling centre for sorting.
