Clearance Requirements
We were contacted by the owner of a large office on Molesworth Street in Lewisham, SE13, who required a complete clearance of the space. The previous company that had been renting the space had left the office in a bad condition, and there were numerous shelves, desks, boxes and cabinets to be removed. Our client wanted to order new furniture for the office, so the clearance was necessary before he could do this.
Clearance Overview
We turned up at the building in which the office was located at 8am, and immediately began work on the clearance. The office was on the second floor of the building so we had to remove items by carrying them down the stairs, but this was not a problem at all as we are experienced in removing furniture even from the fifteenth floor if necessary.
There were lots of desks and chairs to remove, so we started with these. Most of these were in a good condition so we made sure that they were separated to be reused. There were a number of computers, some of which still worked, and lots of heavy cabinets. Some documents remained inside the cabinets, so we made sure that these were separated and destroyed for privacy reasons.
We finished removing the last item from the office at 4pm, leaving it completely empty and ready for the client to order the new furniture.
Disposal of Contents
A great deal of the shelves, cabinets and shelves were in a good enough condition to be reused, so we arranged for these to be sent to a number of charity shops in the surrounding area. We also managed to send some of these to new homes through a few internet websites where people donate their items. We removed a lot of paper from the office, and this was either destroyed if it was confidential, or otherwise sent to our recycling centre to reduce wastage.
