CLEARANCE DATE: 27th September 2012
PROPERTY LOCATION: Wyndale Avenue, Kingsbury, London, NW9
CLEARANCE TYPE: Full house clearance, cleaning and security
PROPERTY TYPE: 5-Bedroom-House
Our client asked us to clear a large semi-detached house on Wyndale Avenue in Kingsbury, NW9, which had been unoccupied for a number of years and had attracted some squatters a few months ago. After evicting the squatters he discovered that the property had been left in a bad condition and he asked us to remove everything that we found within it. There was also lots of clutter that had built up in the back garden that also required clearing, and he asked us if we could also change the locks to improve the security of the property at the same time.
The driveway at the front of the property was clear so we were able to park our vehicles here for extra convenience. After meeting the client at the property we started work immediately, removing everything that we found inside. This included all of the furniture, general clutter, household items and personal effects, as well as the white goods from the kitchen. However, we left the gas cooker in place because it was still in a relatively good condition.
We also removed everything from the back garden, and this took a few hours because we had to carry everything through the house to reach our vehicles. When the house was completely empty we cleaned it throughout to a very high standard, allowing the client to sell it or let it out in the future.
During the day the locksmith arrived and changed the locks, and we handed the keys back to the client at the end of the clearance.
Disposal of Contents
Many of the items that we removed were not in a good enough condition to be reused, so most of the contents were sent to our recycling centre for sorting to prevent them from going straight to landfill. There were a few wooden chairs that were still reusable so we sent these to a local charity that could sell them to raise funds.
The client returned at the end of the clearance and thanked us for carrying out a professional and proficient job, which he had assumed would take longer than one day.
