Clearance Requirements
This three-bedroom flat in an old period property had unfortunately become the victim of a rodent infestation, our client informed us. The problem had been dealt with, but many of the contents now had to be removed so that new furniture and other items could be bought in their place because the client wanted to let the property to tenants. He also asked us to provide the property with a deep clean following the clearance.
The client had also had problems with security and suspected that a previous tenant still held a key to the property, so he asked us to change the locks at the same time as we carried out the clearance.
Clearance Overview
Although there was no on-street parking outside the flat because Twickenham Road is very busy, there was a space behind the property where we could park up our vehicles, which provided good access and allowed us to remove the furniture and effects without any problems.
As we removed the furniture it was clear to see that the previous rodent infestation had taken a heavy toll on the furniture, and some of it was in quite a bad condition. We removed everything from the flat and carried the items down the stairs, which was a two-person job in many cases, until we had finished removing everything including the white goods from the kitchen.
After this our team set to work cleaning every room in the property from top to bottom. We used a range of industrial cleaning techniques to make sure that every trace of the rodent infestation was cleared up, until the whole flat looked like new.
Disposal of Contents
We always try to reuse as many items as we can when we remove them from properties. Unfortunately, in this case most of the furniture was in a bad condition due to the infestation and we could not reuse or resell anything. However, we did manage to arrange for most of the items to be recycled so we were still able to minimise waste significantly
