CLEARANCE DATE: 20th August 2012
PROPERTY LOCATION: Uxbridge Road, Hatch End, London, HA5
CLEARANCE TYPE: Full flat clearance and deep clean
PROPERTY TYPE: 3-bedroom flat
Clearance Requirements
We were contacted by our client who was moving into a 3-bedroom flat above a shop on the busy Uxbridge Road in Hatch End, London, HA5. He had owned the flat for a number of years and had rented it out to a family, but the family had suddenly left without paying their rent and they had left the flat in quite a bad condition. He now wanted to move into the flat himself, so he therefore requested that we clean out all of the debris and general household clutter that had been left behind. This included all of the items of furniture and the carpet in the living room, which he wanted to replace with a new carpet. He also asked us to give the entire property a deep clean to leave it fresh and in a good condition.
Clearance Overview
As this road is in the centre of Hatch End it can get very busy, and our client warned us about this before we arrived. However, there was space to park our closed unmarked van right next to the building so we were able to remove the furniture and load them into the van without any problems. We started the clearance at 8am, and worked until 2pm removing the furniture. The double bed in one of the bedrooms had to be dismantled before it would fit down the stairwell, so two members of our team did this and then reassembled it before loading it into the van. We also discovered a large collection of magazines and newspapers, which we separated for recycling. Following the clearance, we removed the carpet from the living room and began work on the deep clean. This took a few hours to complete, but by the end of the day the property was in an excellent condition. When the owner returned he could not believe how different the flat looked and he was very happy with the standard of the work.
Disposal of Contents
Some of the items were in no fit state to be reused, but we were able to recycle most of these so only a few items had to be sent to landfill. Much of the household clutter, such as the magazines and newspapers, could be sent to our recycling centre directly. We managed to salvage a TV set, a DVD player and furniture including the pine dining table and the sofa, all of which we donated to two separate charities working in the area who confirmed that they would be able to sell them and earn some money for their good causes.
Client Comments
Our client expressed his pleasure with our work when he saw the results of the clearance at the end of the day. He also informed us that he could now move into the property directly.
