Clearance Requirements
We were instructed to clear this two-bedroom terraced house of all the furniture, personal possessions and effects. The property was located on North Street in Great Dunmow, CM6, which is a very small street. Fortunately there was a small area outside the property to park our vehicles. The contents consisted of a standard amount of household items. Following the clearance, the client asked us to clean the house throughout and vacuum the carpets. He also wanted the carpet and underlay in the hallway to be removed to expose the wooden flooring.
Clearance Overview
We began work on the clearance at 8am, and the owner asked us to be as quiet as possible because he had elderly neighbours and he wanted to reduce disruption for them as much as possible. We removed all of the household contents from the property, separating it out into things to be reused and recycled. We finished the clearance by 3pm, then set about cleaning the property throughout. At the end of the day we returned the keys to the client’s estate agent.
Disposal of Contents
We managed to remove all of the furniture and general contents without any problem, and we did not have to dismantle anything because it could all fit into our vehicles. We were able to donate a large amount of items to local charities in Great Dunmow and the surrounding area, and the majority of the remaining contents were recycled so that only a small portion of the contents were sent to landfill.
