CLEARANCE DATE: 19th July 2012
PROPERTY LOCATION: Duke’s Road, Crowthorne, Berkshire, RG45
CLEARANCE TYPE: Full house clearance
PROPERTY TYPE: 3-bedroom house
Clearance Overview
This house clearance was at a property located in an estate just off Duke’s Road. There was a small driveway, but this was not enough space for our vehicles. However, luckily we were given permission by a neighbour to use their driveway as well. There were lots of general household items that had accumulated over the years inside the property. The client also wanted to refit the kitchen before selling the property, and for this reason he asked us to completely strip the kitchen of cabinets and isolate the water supply. He also wanted the downstairs carpets and underlay removed, but not the ones upstairs. We usually value house contents for probate prior to carrying out a property clearance, but in this case a probate valuation was not required.
Clearance Requirements
We turned up for the house clearance at 8am three days after the client called us. WE completed the clearance by 5pm. Most of the contents were smaller items of furniture, although there were a few large wardrobes, a wall unit and e very large Danish sideboard. Dismantling the cabinets in the kitchen proved to be the longest part of the clearance as care had to be taken not to damage the water or electricity services. The kitchen cabinets were dismantled and flat packed as they were not needed again and not possible to recycle. Following the house clearance we swept the property and vacuumed the remaining carpets, but a full-scale deep clean was not required.
Disposal of Contents
The broken cabinets from the kitchen had to be discarded, but the majority of items were either reused or recycled. We kept the items of furniture which still had value, as well as some delightful china ornaments from the living room, to offset the cost of the clearance. All of the items were removed from the property in closed unmarked vans to protect the privacy of our client.
Client Comments
The client was on site so gave us an immediate appraisal. He checked each room and found that everything was in order, and said that we were very easy to work with.
