Clearance Overview
We were instructed to carry out a full house clearance at Whitestile Rd Brentford Middlesex. The property had been rented to multiple tenants, but the landlord wanted to live there and wanted all the furniture, carpets, and curtains removed. A succession of tenants had also left a large amount of junk, old car parts, tyres, etc. We usually value house contents for probate prior to carrying out a property clearance, but in this case, a probate valuation was not required.
Clearance Requirements
Whitestile Rd has unrestricted parking. We arrived on-site at 9 a.m. and immediately began to remove the cupboards, chests of drawers, tables, chairs, cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, foot stools, and beds. There was also a large old-style CRT television in the lounge, which was very heavy and required two people to lift it. We then cleared the junk out of the garden. Our team of five completed the clearance by 6p.m. and handed the keys to the owner, who came to inspect the property.
Disposal of Contents
Much of the furniture was in poor condition but we were able to donate some of the cupboards and other furniture to a local Brentford charity shop who advised us that they could obtain a reasonable amount of money on re-sale.
We were unsure if we could find a home for the fully functional television, but a local elderly home needed a TV as theirs had broken. We donated a Freeview box to them as well so that their television service was restored!
The junk in the garden was sent to our recycling centre along with much of the personal effects.

Additional Information
Brentford is home to the Kew Bridge Steam Museum, which houses a Victorian Steam pumping engine, part of the early water infrastructure. Two of our crew members are railway enthusiasts, so we took some time out after completing the clearance to take a ride on London’s only operating narrow gauge steam railway, which is part of the museum. This is a very impressive museum and well worth a visit.
