Clearance Requirements
We were asked to clear this four-bedroom terraced house on Priory Park Road in Kilburn, London, NW6 by the owner who wanted to clean it out so that he could live in it himself. He had previously let it out to a number of tenants, some of whom had left their possessions behind, and he did not want to keep any of the furniture.
He also asked us to remove all the carpets and underlay from throughout the house and to provide it with a deep clean following the clearance so that he could start to introduce his own possessions.
Clearance Overview
We used the client’s parking permit so were able to park right outside the front door of the house. It was a peaceful street in Kilburn so there were no problems with the traffic when removing the contents.
After a quick appraisal we started work at 7.30am and carried on clearing the property up until the middle of the afternoon. There were many items to remove, most of which consisted of furniture, old personal belongings, books, kitchen utensils, DVDs, shelves, desks and more. Most of the rooms were in a good condition but one had been affected by damp and most of the contents had deteriorated due to this.
Following the clearance of the objects, we removed the carpets and underlay and then cleaned the property throughout, utilising specialist cleaning equipment to ensure that the cleaning was completed to our high professional standards.
Disposal of Contents
Many of the household items and furniture were suitable for reusing so we donated these to three separate charities working in the area, two of which we had donated items to following previous house clearances. The contents of the room affected by damp were not suitable for reusing but we managed to recycle most of the items to ensure that waste was kept to an absolute minimum.
