Clearance Requirements
Our client for this house clearance on Dormers Wells Lane in Southall, UB1, had experienced problems with squatters in the last few months. After evicting them, he discovered that they had left lots of belongings behind and had damaged some of the existing furniture. He asked us to remove everything from the property and clean it thoroughly so that he could redecorate it and sell it.
Clearance Overview
The semi-detached house had a large driveway that was more than adequate to park our vans. We met the client early in the morning at 7.00am, and we began work immediately. We cleared everything out from the kitchen, including the white goods. Many of these were damaged, as were some of the items of furniture in the living room. There was lots of general clutter to clear up, including old clothes, food wrappers and other rubbish, so we moved through the house methodically and at a fast pace. We cleared the entire ground floor in the morning, and in the afternoon it took us a few more hours to clear the upstairs bedrooms and bathroom. One of the bedrooms was in quite a bad shape, and it looked like there had been some serious problems with damp in the past. We removed everything and salvaged what we could, but many of the items were in a bad condition. After removing everything from inside the property, including the carpets, we gave the house a very deep clean throughout, and we were able to leave it in excellent condition at the end of the day.
Disposal of Contents
Where the contents had been affected by damp, there was not really any way for us to realistically reuse these items, so we sent what we could to our recycling centre along with anything else that could not be reused. However, some of the furniture was still in a good condition, and we sent three chairs, a table, a bookshelf and some other furniture to a local charity to be sold to raise funds.
