Clearance Overview
This small flat was located in the town centre and had a considerable amount of furniture and effects within. As well as normal furnishings we found around 50 sacks of clothing that had been bagged ready to donate to charity but never got there. The apartment was on the first floor and had a garage packed with old toys and general clutter. There was evidence of mouse infestation within the flat. There was a garage in a separate block containing general clutter and car parts.The new owner had inherited it and had quickly discovered that it had a pest problem so he asked us to completely clear all household furniture and effects, empty the garage of all contents and destroy all foodstuffs to deter mice. There was ample parking space for the 2 vehicles needed.
Clearance Requirements
We were instructed to clear the entire flat of all furnishings, take down any loose wallpaper and discard any loose kitchen or bathroom tiles we came across. We were asked us to take up the carpets and underlay then dispose of any material and furnishings contaminated by mice. The next job was to remove all the contents from the garage and sweep it clean ready for storing building materials needed for proposed renovation of the property.
Disposal of Contents
Many of the items had to be thrown out, but there were still many that could be recycled. We came across some items of furniture and a pile of books that could be reused so we donated them to a local charity.
