Hoarded Terraced Property In South West London

After visiting a client and having been recommended by one of her close friends we were given instruction to clear an extremely hoarded property in South West London. I was pleased to get the job and felt very happy that our new customer had confidence in me so i approached the job with great enthusiasm and with the full intention of making my customer completely happy by restoring her brothers hoarded flat back to a clean and respectable dwelling.

Waist High With Newspapers And Discarded Food

The house was a typical version of hoarding and having seen many houses and flats in a similar state it was no surprise to me. But it is always saddening to think that the owner or occupant was suffering in such terrible conditions without the family knowing. And families often blame themselves for neglecting their relatives when in fact it has been completely beyond their control and they have had no knowledge of the situation.
Before Things Got Out Of Control
As we cleared this house bit by bit i could see things going back in time, the living conditions improving historically as we removed each layer of newspapers and general clutter to the point where we found the whole house appearing quite normal, with furniture and personal items all in their original places before the owner had become sick and lost the will to keep the house in order. We were confronting the final situation after the house becoming completely hoarded just before his death. He had been a very keen vinyl record collector and the whole house had thousands of Lp’s stored in every cupboard and stacked on the floor neatly with carefully compiled lists of each record.
Cleared Cleaned And Back To Normal
We cleared the remaining household furniture and effects along with the large vinyl collection then as always deep cleaned the house from top to bottom leaving it clean, spotless and odour free.
