I Need A House Clearance Of Furniture And Effects – How Does The Process Work

June 20, 2012 By Avery Associates

“How Does The House Clearance Process Work” – If you are clearing the contents of a house for the first time and don’t know where to start then please read on.

As a house clearance company regularly clearing houses of furniture and effects all over the UK, we have all the answers you need, and it’s completely understandable to us that it can be a very difficult for you to know how the house clearance process works, so we have written this article to give you a clear idea of how a property clearance works and what happens to all of the furniture and effects, how it is removed and where it all ends up. We will also describe how the pricing structure, how items are valued and what fees you might have to pay if any.

A Methodical Approach To House Clearance

We have a simple and well calculated approach that makes it easy for our client to understand how it works and the costs involved. This method is the same for the majority of house clearances, with variations in cost depending on the value of the contents and the amount of residual content to be cleared.

House Clearance Scenarios And Costings

Let’s assume that your property is fully furnished with fairly modern furniture that is in good condition, as well as electrical, white goods, smaller effects, ornaments etc… Having viewed the contents we will calculate their worth based upon a realistic open market value then work out how much the labour will cost for removing them from the property, transport, tipping fees etc. and apply the two figures together then arrive at a final cost for the work.
Here are three basic examples.

1. We consider the contents to have a value of £1000 and the labour costs for clearing the house contents is £500 – So then we will pay you £500.

2. We value the contents at £500 and the labour costs are £1000 – In this case you will be required to pay £500.

3. The contents have a value of £1000 and the labour costs are £1000 – So there will be no charge at all.

This is a basic guide and there are many other factors and circumstances that may make a change in the price such as, relocation of furniture on behalf of the client, cleaning the property, gardening work, removal of cars, but in any case we will always explain the costs in advance so that you fully understand the proposed work and how much it will cost you before we commence.
