As a recommended local firm we are regularly instructed to carry out all types of house clearance. Surrey based solicitors, estate agents and private clients frequently employ us and a few weeks ago we were asked to clear out a large 4-bedroom property in Farnham, and of course we were happy to comply. We clear houses from one-bedroom apartments to mansions, so a four-bedroom town house was well within our means.
Packed With Furniture
Upon arrival, we saw that it was going to be a large job. The property itself was lovely, a large and spacious property which had been home to a single man. However, there were a lot of contents that needed dealing with and we were asked to clear the entire property from top to bottom.
There was also a garage attached to the side of the property and if we thought that the property itself was packed full of contents, we had no idea what was waiting for us in the garage! It was crammed full of so many items that we would be forgiven for feeling a bit daunted.
Luckily, cleaning challenging properties is exactly what we do, and we have yet to come across a house clearance situation that we could not deal with.
An Early Start
The work began on the property clearance bright and early at 8 a.m., with the aim of finishing work by the end of the day. We started in the living room where we removed a large sofa and two accompanying chairs, all of which we knew would go to a new owner as it was too good to throw out.
There were a couple of high-quality wooden wardrobes which we also took to our depot to be sold on.
It is not just the large items that we make sure we use again. We also found a large collection of LPs, some old photos, a stamp collection, lots of books and many other smaller items which we later donated to charity.
The kitchen and bedrooms did not hold as much of interest, and we removed the items back to void. Then it was onto the garage.
This had been used as a room to store practically anything, and once we got to work we found old bike parts, tools, car parts, tyres, gardening implements and lots of other items which were little more than junk. We separated out what we could use and got rid of the rest.
A Successful Job
It was a large but successful job, and we ended up finishing the clearance at about 6 p.m., after which the house was left completely clear of items and ready for the next owner.
