Due to the fact that estate agents property valuations vary so much it is more likely that the chances of challenge by Inland Revenue will be quite high. If the value is questioned the Inland Revenue will instruct the district valuer, and subsequently, if the value is found to be inaccurate certain penalties can be imposed which would result in higher tax liabilities.
