Clearance Requirements
Our client for this house clearance was the owner of a detached property on Raymond Road in Wimbledon, SW19, which had a mock tudor style. He asked us to squeeze in a clearance at short notice because he was desperate to put his property on the market in the coming weeks and it required a lot of work before he could start to arrange viewings. There was still a lot of furniture, general household contents and effects to remove, and it also required a clean. We told him it was no problem to arrange a clearance at short notice, and we squeezed him in a few days after he called.
Clearance Overview
We arrived with a large team and parked our vans in the driveway. The client showed us around the apartment quickly, and we got to work immediately. There were not as many items as we are used to in the largest clearances, so this was a fairly straightforward job by our standards. We removed all of the large items of furniture throughout the house, and then boxed and bagged up the smaller personal effects. We worked very quickly, always taking the utmost care not to cause any damage to the property itself. In the kitchen we disconnected the washing machine, fridge, freezer and electric cooker and cleared out the cabinets. There were also some odd bits of old items in the garden that we cleared up as well. We finished the actual clearance ahead of schedule, and we then began work on the deep clean. It took a few hours to clean out every room in the house, but by the time we were finished it looked fantastic and ready for viewings. We also cut off the central heating and electricity supply while we were there.
Disposal of Contents
Most of the things that we cleared were in a relatively good condition, although they were not really suitable for resale. We therefore donated them to a range of places including charities, hostels, jumble sales and websites so that nothing went to waste. We sent the remaining items to the recycling centre to be processed.
