Clearance Requirements
As well as house and flat clearances, we are also asked to clear office spaces, as was the case with this job that we carried out in October 2012 in Wellington Street in Woolwich. The owner had decided to sell the office space, but it still had lots of furniture inside including desks, computers and filing cabinets. We arranged to clear the space and to clean it throughout, and we estimated that the job would take a day to complete.
Clearance Overview
We arrived bright and early and parked our vans outside the building where the office was located. We could not park them right next to the main entrance to the building, but this was not a problem because we are used to carrying heavy items down stairs and along pavements. There was a lot of furniture inside the office, and we immediately began to clear it all. Some items could be carried individually, but we had to work in teams to clear the larger desks, filing cabinets, tables, shelves and two large photocopiers. Our client wanted us to deliver some of the items to another office about half an hour from the location of the clearance, so we loaded these into the vans separately. We cleared out everything in very good time, and after the whole space was cleared we cleaned the carpets and made sure that everything was looking sparkling clean before we finished the job at about 5.00pm.
Disposal of Contents
We delivered the photocopiers and a few computers to the other office as requested by the client. We donated the furniture that he did not want to a local charity shop and a jumble sale, and then we shredded the paper documents for security and recycled these to reduce the amount of waste caused by the clearance.
