This gives new clients some understanding of the clearance process and pricing. CLEARANCE DATE: 20th November 2012
PROPERTY LOCATION: St Barnabas Road, Woodford, London, IG8
CLEARANCE TYPE: Full house clearance and security
PROPERTY TYPE: 4-bedroom house
Clearance Requirements
Our client for this clearance was the owner of a four-bedroom semi-detached house on St Barnabas Road in Woodford, London, IG8. He had attempted to clear the property himself, but had soon realised that it was far too much work for him alone, so he called us to help him out. He also asked us to arrange for a locksmith to change the locks on the front and back doors, and to isolate the electricity supply during the clearance, which we agreed to do.
Clearance Overview
The property was located on a quiet road and had a large driveway, so we were able to park our vehicles right outside the front door. After taking a quick look over the property and placing plywood protection around the front door, we got to work clearing the property. During the morning the locksmith arrived to change the locks, and we had to be careful not to get in his way while removing the furniture, so for a while we carried the items out of the back door. Most of the smaller household effects had been removed by the client already, so it was just a case of removing the larger items such as the dining room table, the sofa, the cooker and a few beds and wardrobes. We finished removing the last item quite early, by about 3.00pm, and we then isolated the electricity supply as requested. The locksmith also finished earlier in the day and we handed the new keys to our client when we left.
Disposal of Contents
Many of the items that we removed could be reused, so we found two local charity shops and offered them some of the furniture to see if they wanted to sell it. In this way we were able to donate most of the reusable contents, and we also donated a large number of items to a local organisationÕs jumble sale. Some of the contents could not be reused, but in this case we made sure they were recycled if they were made from suitable materials.
Client Comments
Our client thanked us for a very satisfactory job, and said that he was very impressed by our professionalism.
