This clearance consisted of a large office on the busy Milton Road in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, SS0. Our client was the owner of the office and he was preparing to let it out to a new company, so he required all of the furniture to be removed. He also asked us to vacuum the office space following the clearance to leave it in a tidy condition.
Clearance Overview
The office building was situated on a busy road in the centre of Westcliff-on-Sea, and a parking permit was required to park our vehicles, which we obtained from Southend-on-Sea Borough Council. We arrived on the site at 7.00am and began to work immediately. The client met us and showed us what needed clearing, which mostly consisted of desks, old computers, shelving units and filing cabinets. There were other offices in the building with staff working, so we had to be especially careful not to cause too much disturbance during the day. Our team worked quickly and efficiently, and we had completely cleared the property by 5pm. We then vacuumed the office space throughout to leave it ready to let out again.
Disposal of Contents
Much of the furniture was in a very good condition, so it was agreed that we would sell what we could and donate the rest to local charitable organisations. We were therefore able to reduce the cost of the clearance for our client and reduce wastage at the same time. Much of the contents consisted of paper files and folders, but to avoid wastage we sent these to our recycling centre. As a result, nothing had to be sent to landfill.
