Clearance Requirements
Our client for this clearance owned a large detached house on Sipson Road in West Drayton. Not only did he request a clearance, but he also asked us to remove all of the cabinets from the kitchen because he wanted to renovate it. We agreed to do this, and we also agreed to cut off the water supply at the end of the day.
Clearance Overview
We began the clearance immediately after we had arrived. We started in the kitchen and removed all of the white goods, including the fridge, freezer and electric cooker. After emptying out all of the cabinets we took these down carefully so that the space was completely empty. While one team worked in the kitchen, the other team remained busy removing the furniture and effects from the living room and hallway. Once the downstairs area had been cleared, we moved upstairs and emptied out all the cupboards and wardrobes, removing personal effects such as clothes. One thing of interest we came across was an extensive stamp collection. We put this aside to show the client in case he wanted to keep it. We finished the clearance at 5.30pm, and then cut off the water supply. The client returned to check over the property and gave us the all clear.
Disposal of Contents
Our client did not want to keep the stamp collection so we donated this to a charity, which said it looked very interesting. We also donated some furniture to the same charity. There were some goods that were not suitable for donating so we recycled these instead to prevent them from going to landfill.
