The owner of this ground-floor flat on Browning Street in Walworth, London, contacted us to arrange a complete flat clearance. He informed us that his neighbours were very elderly and very sensitive to noise, so asked us to be as careful as possible when carrying out the clearance to avoid upsetting them too much.
Clearance Overview
We began work on the clearance at 8.00am, and it did not take us long to make good progress. We had cleared the entire living room by mid-morning, removing all of the books, shelves, furniture and ornaments that remained, although our client had already removed some of the smaller personal items. In the kitchen a number of tiles had come loose from the wall, and we were asked to remove any of the remaining tiles that were loose but not to worry too much if it proved to be difficult to remove. We managed to remove nearly all of the tiles, leaving the area ready to be redecorated. Upstairs the bedrooms were filled with general contents and effects, and we cleared them out one by one. We carried all of the goods out the door and loaded them into the vans, always being careful not to cause unnecessary disruption for the sake of the neighbours.
Disposal of Contents
We donated many boxes of general items to a local charity shop, and anything that the shop did not want we stored away to be sent to a jumble sale, thereby helping to reduce wastage, which is always our policy. We also managed to recycle most of the things that could not be reused.
