CLEARANCE DATE: 13th November 2012

PROPERTY LOCATION: Central Hill, Upper Norwood, London, SE19

CLEARANCE TYPE: Full flat clearance and deep clean

PROPERTY TYPE: 3-bedroom flat

Clearance Requirements

Our client for this clearance was the owner of a large three-bedroom flat on Central Hill in Upper Norwood, London, SE19. For nearly a decade he had been renting it out to tenants, but he had now decided to move into the property himself and wanted us to clear out all of the furniture and effects that had been left by the previous tenants. He also wanted us to clean the property throughout, as well as removing all of the carpets from the flat. He warned us that there were a few large items of furniture to be removed, including two very large wardrobes.

Clearance Overview

We arrived at the property at 8.00am and parked the vehicles at the side of the building. We met the client who showed us around the property, and then we immediately set to work clearing out the contents. We began work in the living room, where we found numerous large boxes of personal effects that the client had already started to pack away. There was also a large TV stand, a DVD player, lots of posters on the walls and a three-piece suite. We then moved into the kitchen, where we removed all of the white goods, including the fridge, freezer and electric cooker. We had to be careful because some of the plates and bowls had fallen to the floor and had smashed, leaving sharp shards of china on the floor. The hardest part of the clearance involved removing the two large wardrobes from the bedrooms. It took three members of the team to carry each one, but we took them downstairs very carefully and loaded them into our van so that we could sell them later. After removing the carpets and underlay, we cleaned the flat throughout, making sure that it looked absolutely spotless in every single room. We finished the job at 5.00pm, and the client then came to review the property and gave us the all clear.

Disposal of Contents

Most of the furniture that we removed from the flat was in a very good condition, so we decided to donate all of the items to three local charities. They happily accepted our donations and assured us that they would be able to sell them to raise some funds. Some of the clutter that we cleared from the flat was not in a good enough condition to be reused, so we sent this to our recycling centre to avoid sending it to landfill.

Client Comments

Our client said that he was very impressed with the standard of our work. He thanked us for working so professionally, and said that he will be recommending us to friends and family in the future.
