Clearance Requirements
We were instructed to clear this 4-bedroom terraced house on Brennan Road in Tilbury, RM18, by our client who lived abroad. He wanted to sell the house but did not want to come back to the UK to oversee the clearance, so he put us in contact with his estate agent and we arranged the clearance with them. Because the house was to be sold, he requested that we give the property a deep clean following the clearance to make it presentable.
Clearance Overview
We arrived at the property at 7.00am and met the representative from the estate agents. He informed us that the client wanted us to send some of his personal effects to a nearby storage unit, and that these items had been labelled. We got to work and removed all of the furniture and effects from the property, starting with the ground floor. We removed the white goods from the kitchen and removed the crockery, glasses, plates and utensils from the cupboards. We then removed the furniture from the bedrooms, and we had to disassemble two of the large double beds. We reassembled these outside and loaded them into the van. Once the house was completely clear we cleaned it throughout and left it looking in a great condition ready for the viewings. We finished the job by 5.00pm.
Disposal of Contents
We separated out the marked items and took these to the nearby storage unit as requested. Much of the furniture was in a good condition so we arranged to donate some items to a nearby youth centre, and the others we sent to a local charity shop. Some of the contents had to be recycled, but fortunately nothing had to be sent to landfill this time which is great because we aim to waste as little as possible on every clearance.
