CLEARANCE DATE: 10th September 2012
PROPERTY LOCATION: Ness Road, Shoeburyness, Essex, SS3
CLEARANCE TYPE: Full house clearance and deep clean
PROPERTY TYPE: 3-bedroom terraced house
Clearance Requirements
We were instructed to clear this three-bedroom terraced house on Ness Road in Shoeburyness, SS3, along with a deep clean of the property. Our client was a firm of solicitors which was acting on behalf of the property owner. We were asked to remove all of the furniture and effects, including the white goods from the kitchen, the carpets and the curtains. We were then asked to isolate the electrics and cut off the water supply, and to clean the entire property. This was because the property was to remain empty for up to a year.
Clearance Overview
There was no parking available outside the property so we had to apply to Southend Borough Council for a permit. We arrived at 8am and met a representative from the firm of solicitors. We then started to clean all of the furniture and effects from the property. It mostly consisted of old furniture, but some of it was in good condition. We loaded everything into our vans and then removed the carpets. Our plumber cut off the water supply and we then cleaned the property throughout. We finished the job by switching off the main switch to isolate the electrical supply.
Disposal of Contents
Although the furniture was mainly in a good condition it was of little commercial value, so we donated some items to a few nearby charity shops. Some of the contents were sent for recycling, but nothing had to be sent to landfill which is great because we always try to reuse everything as much as possible.
Client Comments
At the end of the day the representative from the firm of solicitors inspected the property and declared that the clearance was of a very high standard. As a result, the firm added us to their list of approved contractors for house clearances.
