Clearance Requirements
We were instructed by our client to clear a large semi-detached property on Eastwood Road in Rayleigh, SS6, which had been occupied by multiple tenants. The landlord had decided that he now wanted to live in the property himself, so he asked us to remove the furniture, curtains, carpets and general household effects that had accumulated over the years. The succession of tenants had left a large amount of old items, such as newspapers, plastic containers and boxes, so we were also asked to remove these.
Clearance Overview
The property on Eastwood Road had a driveway so parking was not a problem. We arrived on site at 8am and we immediately set to work clearing the chests of draws, tables, cupboards, crockery, pans, beds and other furniture and effects. Some of the heavier items, such as the chest of draws, required two people to lift. The team completed the clearance by 5.30pm and then returned the keys to the client when he came to inspect the property.
Disposal of Contents
We were able to donate a few items of furniture to a local Rayleigh charity, but most of the furniture was in a poor condition. A nearby home for the elderly accepted the donation of the TV and DVD player, which were still in good condition. Anything that could not be reused was sent to our recycling centre.
