Clearance Requirements
We were asked to clear this large semi-detached house on Durants Road in Ponders End, EN3, by a firm of solicitors acting as executors for the estate of the owner. As well as removing everything from inside the property, there were also many items of furniture and some clutter that had built up in the back garden and shed, so we agreed to clear the garden at the same time. As the property was to be put on the market, our client asked us to give it a deep clean following the clearance.
Clearance Overview
The house had its own driveway so we were able to park our vans outside right next to the front door, which made removing the contents easier. We carried out an appraisal of the property, then placed plywood protection around the front door before starting work on the clearance.
We removed all of the furniture from the living room, before moving onto the kitchen where all the white goods were removed and the cabinets were cleared. Upstairs we cleared the three bedrooms and the hallway, and then we got to work on the outside area.
The shed was full of old tools and general clutter so we cleared it out completely. One team then cleared up the items from the garden at the same time as the other team started on the deep clean, and in the end we finished the job at 5.00pm.
Disposal of Contents
All of the contents that could be reused were donated to two separate charity shops in the area. The charities were very happy to take the items as donations and assured us that they would be able to sell them to raise funds. This was great because it also meant we could reduce the amount of waste generated by the clearance.
