CLEARANCE DATE: 27th August 2012

PROPERTY LOCATION: Western Avenue, Perivale, London, UB6

CLEARANCE TYPE: Full House Clearance

PROPERTY TYPE: 4-Bedroom-House

Clearance Requirements

This semi-detached house just off Western Avenue in Perivale, London, UB6, belonged to our client who had inherited it from his parents. He wanted to keep the property in the family rather than selling it, but he had decided to clear it and isolate the electric and water supplies so that he could decide what to do with it.

He informed us that he had already removed any of the personal items that he wanted to keep, and that there were a number of interesting antiques remaining in case we were interested in selling any of them.

Clearance Overview

The house had a large driveway so we were able to park up our vans when we arrived just before 8.00am, and we got to work on the clearance immediately. We began by placing plywood protection around the front door, and then we started to remove the furniture quickly but carefully.

There was a large collection of antiques, ranging from a large china bowl to a collection of dolls that the client claimed were over a century old. We decided to sell some of these to offset the cost of the clearance, and the rest could be donated.

The clearance took most of the day as there was a large amount of furniture and effects to remove. Some of the furniture also had to be dismantled to remove it from the house, but we reassembled these items before loading them into the vans.

When the house was completely clear, we isolated the electrics and water supply, and then gave it a quick but effective clean to leave it in a good condition.

Disposal of Contents

Apart from the antiques that we sold, many of the items were still in a good condition and suitable for reusing so we donated what we could to a local charity and found homes for all of the other items. One of these was a large table that we gave to a nearby church to be used in its hall. Most of the remaining items were processed for recycling to reduce waste, and only a few small boxes had to be sent to landfill.

Client Comments

Our client thanked us for carrying out such a professional job, and he was also very grateful that we were able to sell some of the antiques to reduce the cost for him.
