CLEARANCE DATE: 15th August 2012

PROPERTY LOCATION: Blakes Avenue, New Malden, London, KT3

CLEARANCE TYPE: Full house clearance and deep clean

PROPERTY TYPE: 4-Bedroom-House

Clearance Requirements

Our client for this house clearance had inherited the property from his relative and now wanted to place it on the market. It was a four-bedroom detached house in a very pleasant area of New Malden, but his relative had become ill before her death and as such it had not been very well cared for. He asked us to clear all of the remaining furniture and effects, to clean the property throughout and to isolate the electrics and the water supply as well.

Clearance Overview

When we arrived at 7am, we were able to park our vehicles in the large private driveway. The client met us upon arrival, and we immediately began work on the clearance. Firstly, we placed plywood protection around the front door to avoid damage caused by any knocks. Then we started to remove the furniture from the living room and kitchen.

We removed all of the sofas, chairs, tables, bookshelves, as well as white goods from the kitchen. We then cleared the upstairs bedrooms and bathroom. All in all, it took most of the day to clear all of the contents because there were lots of things to remove and many of the items of furniture were very large.

We then cleaned the property throughout, leaving it in an excellent condition so that the owner could begin to organise viewings. Following the deep clean, we isolated the electrics and the water supply as requested.

Disposal of Contents

During the clearance we came across a collection of journals inside one of the wardrobes. We handed these to the client at the end of the clearance, and they turned out to belong to his relative, so he was very grateful that we found them. Most of the furniture was suitable for reusing so we arranged to send these to two local charities as donations. All of the items that could not be reused were sent to our recycling centre where we processed them so that we only sent the minimum amount to landfill.
