CLEARANCE DATE: 6th September 2012
PROPERTY LOCATION: London Road, Mitcham, London, CR4
CLEARANCE TYPE: Full house clearance and deep clean
PROPERTY TYPE: 3-Bedroom-House
Clearance Requirements
The owner of this semi-detached was currently living overseas, and our client was the solicitor who was acting as the executor of the estate. Aside from clearing the property of all of its contents, he also requested a complete deep clean. The property had not been occupied for a few years and as such was not in a condition to be put on the market until it had been cleaned throughout, so we agreed to do this on the same day as the clearance..
Clearance Overview
There was no parking on the street outside the property, but there was a small driveway in which we parked our vans. The solicitor met us upon arrival, and we began to clear the property just after 8am.
There were lots of old items of furniture, many of which were not really suitable to be sold or reused. However, the six oak chairs and the table in the living room were all still in a very good condition, and there was also a large bookshelf, a wardrobe and some shelving units that were suitable for reusing.
Some of the white goods had already been removed from the kitchen, but we removed those that remained along with the general contents that we found in the cabinets and cupboards.
We had completely cleared the property by 4pm, and had removed the carpets throughout the house. After this we set to work on cleaning the house throughout, and this took a couple of hours to complete.
Disposal of Contents
Everything that was suitable for reusing was donated to two charity shops that operated in the area, one of which we had donated items to before. Most of the contents in this clearance were not suitable for reusing, so we separated out the things that could be recycled, which was a large proportion of the contents, and the remaining items were sent to landfill. As always, we removed everything in closed unmarked vans for the privacy of the client.
Client Comments
The solicitor returned at the end of the day and confirmed that he was very happy with the standard of the clearance and the clean. He said that he would definitely be using our services again in the future.
