Clearance Requirements
The owner of this four-bedroom semi-detached house on Oliver Road in Leyton asked us to remove everything from inside the property so that he could move into it himself. The house had belonged to his mother who had passed away and had left it to him in her will. He had already been through the property and removed anything that he wanted to keep, and he was very keen that the rest of the items be sent to a charity or used again in some way to prevent them being wasted, as this is what his mother would have wanted.
He had his own furniture as well as a cooker, fridge, washing machine and other white goods, so he also asked us to remove everything that was currently in the property to provide space for his own items. He also asked us to clean the house at the end of the clearance.
Clearance Overview
There were double yellow lines on the street outside the house so we parked our vehicles at the back of the property and started clearing the house immediately. We began in the living room where we removed shelves, books, a TV, various ornaments, a three-piece suite and some paintings on the wall.
We then cleared the kitchen, removing all of the white goods including the electric cooker, as well as the crockery and utensils from the cabinets so that it was left completely empty.
Following this we moved upstairs and cleared everything from the bedrooms and bathroom, and once the entire property had been cleared we cleaned it throughout to leave it in excellent condition.
Disposal of Contents
We donated all of the items that were in a suitable condition to three separate charities in the area, who were all very grateful to receive the furniture and other items that they could sell to raise funds for their organisations. There were a few things that we had to recycle, but there were also some items that we agreed to resell to offset the cost of the clearance, including some of the paintings from the living room. As always, we removed everything from the property in our closed unmarked vans for the privacy of our client
