CLEARANCE DATE: 12th October 2012
PROPERTY LOCATION: Knight’s Park, Kingston-Upon-Thames, London, KT1
CLEARANCE TYPE: Full house clearance
PROPERTY TYPE: 4-Bedroom-House
Clearance Requirements
Our client for this clearance was an estate agent who we had actually worked with once before, and they had been so impressed with the previous job that they wanted to use us again. The property was a large detached house in the centre of Kingston-Upon-Thames in London, KT1, and the owner wanted to prepare the property to sell it. He was planning to redecorate it first, so we did not need to clean it following the clearance, but he wanted everything removed including the white goods, gas cooker and carpets
Clearance Overview
Parking was available outside the house so we had no problem parking our closed unmarked vans very near to the door. Before starting the clearance we covered the doorway and porch area with plywood for added protection, and then we began to remove all of the furniture and effects from the living room, bedrooms and kitchen.
We removed all of the white goods from the kitchen, and just before midday a Gas Safe engineer arrived to disconnect the gas cooker so we could remove this safely. There were a few items to remove from a shed in the back garden and from the garage, and following the removal of all of the items we removed the carpets and underlay. We then gave the property a quick clean throughout to leave it in a good condition, and handed the keys back to the estate agent at 5pm.
Disposal of Contents
Most of the furniture was in a very good condition, so using a number of websites and a couple of charities we managed to find new homes for all of it. However, there was nothing in the property that we felt we could resell to lower the cost of the clearance. We sent a large number of old newspapers and other recyclable items to our recycling centre, always making sure we removed everything in our closed unmarked vans for the sake of the owner’s privacy.
Client Comments
The estate agent confirmed that the job had been completed to a very high standard when he picked up the keys at the end of the day, and said that he would be calling us again in the near future to carry out more house clearances in the area.
