Clearance Overview
Whilst many garages are used to keep the family car safe and off the street, there was not much chance of that with this garage. The garage was literally piled up above head height with clutter, and we were asked to clear the garage space completely so that it could be used again for car parking. Being in a restricted parking area we had to get clearance from the council first, but when permission was granted we made a lot of effort to minimise disruption in the street.
Clearance Requirements
The owner of the property knew that there were a number of items hidden in the garage which he wanted to keep, but he could not find them. He gave us a list of things to look out for, so when we cleared the garage we separated them for his retention, and at the end of the job we placed them back inside the garage.
Disposal of Contents
Apart from the items that the owner wanted to keep, many of the other items were in good enough condition to be sold or donated to charity. The rest of the items were separated for recycling, and only a tiny amount had to be sent to landfill.
