CLEARANCE DATE: 31st August 2012
PROPERTY LOCATION: Harlington Road, Hayes, London, UB3, UB8
CLEARANCE TYPE: Full House Clearance
PROPERTY TYPE: 4-bedroom semi-detached house
Clearance Requirements
Our client for this house clearance just off Harlington Road, Hayes, UB8 was an estate agent who we had not worked with before. However, we had been recommended to them by another estate agent who we have worked for on numerous occasions. They contacted us to ask us to clear this large semi-detached house for the owner, who had not decided whether to sell the property or move into it himself. Our task was to simply clear everything out, including all the household contents, furniture and personal effects, and leave it completely empty.
Clearance Overview
This large and modern house had a private driveway so parking our closed unmarked vehicles was not a problem at all. The area was quiet and pleasant, so we made sure that we worked carefully and quietly to cause as little disruption as possible.
We started the clearance by removing all of the items and furniture from the ground floor. The estate agent confirmed that we could sell anything that we found and use the money to offset the cost of the clearance, and we soon came across a large clock that we estimated to be from the early 20th century, so we put this aside for resale. There were four paintings throughout the property that we also put aside to sell at a later date, but these were the only things of value. We removed the rest of the items from the property and loaded them into our vans. Some of these, such as the dining room table and two of the king-sized beds, had to be dismantled carefully first, but we reassembled these before loading them into our vehicles. We removed the last items from the property at 6pm, and a epresentative from the estate agent arrived to collect the keys and confirm that everything was completed to the standard required.
Disposal of Contents
We took the paintings and the large clock to our sorting centre and their value was used to reduce the price of the house clearance. Most of the furniture was in a very good condition, and the estate agent recommended a few good charities located in the surrounding area so we arranged for these to be donated and reused. We always do this with as many of the items as we can to avoid having to send anything to landfill. A few of the items were not suitable for reusing, but luckily they could be recycled so we did not have to waste them. Our dedicated gardening team took care of the garden and disposed of the waste and much of it was placed in compost bins, although some of it was taken to the local council’s recycling centre and placed with the green waste material
Client Comments
The representative from the estate agent was very happy with the clearance, and he took some photos and sent them to the client for his approval. We heard back from the estate agent within a few days, who said that the owner was very pleased with the standard of the job, and now we hope to carry out some more clearances for the estate agent in the future.
