Clearance Requirements
Our client contacted us to request the clearance of his father’s three-bedroom terrace house in Haydens Road, Harlow, CM19. His father had lived in the house for over 50 years, but had suffered from poor health recently and the accumulated possessions, furniture and effects now needed to be cleared. The client lived in Italy and so was unable to view the property. However, he asked us to remove any items of value and take them to a nearby storage facility. There was a small shed in the garden that also required clearing, but it was mainly filled with rubbish.
Clearance Overview
When we arrived at the property at 8am we found that there was parking available, even though the house was located near the centre of Harlow. We started by clearing the kitchen, living room and downstairs bedroom of all of the household effects and residue. There were a number of large items of furniture to remove, but our trained team were able to remove these without any problem. We removed the white goods from the kitchen, but left the cooker. We then cleared the shed of the accumulated rubbish, which mostly consisted of newspapers and old plastic containers for weedkiller and household cleaning agents. Following the clearance, we provided a quick vacuum throughout the property to leave it looking fresh and clean.
Disposal of Contents
We considered this a fairly standard clearance, which did not present any particular difficulties. Because there was parking available, we were able to load up our van right next to the property throughout the clearance. As always, we used a closed unmarked van to protect the client’s privacy. All of the items of value were taken to the storage facility as requested, and we recycled the majority of any remaining items that could not be reused.
