Clearance Overview
This clearance involved clearing the garden of a semi-detached property in Egham. The garden had essentially been used as a tip for many years and contained lots of plastic, metal and wooden items. The house itself was fully furnished and untouched since the 70,s. The property did not have a large driveway so we had to park on the road, but we were nevertheless able to avoid blocking the traffic. We usually value house contents for probate prior to carrying out a property clearance, but in this case a probate valuation was not required.
Clearance Requirements
The task we were set with was to remove all of the house contents, clothing, bric a brac, kitchenalia as well as a large amount of junk and debris from the garden, but other than that there were no specific requirements. The owner simply wanted the space to be free from clutter and tidy so that it could be marketed for sale.
We also applied weed killer to the paths and driveways at no extra cost to the customer.
Disposal of Contents
Most of the items were recyclable so they were sent directly to our recycling centre. Those items that we were not able to recycle were sent to landfill. Due to weathering of the items in the garden nothing was worth saving, but we managed to send a large amount of the contents to a local Egham charity. We also had to be particularly careful when handling the items because there were a lot of rusty nails and sharp ends to avoid.
