Clearance Overview
This small flat belonged to a man whose mother had died and it had been neglected for a number of years. It was on the ground floor which made it easier to clear, but we can also clear flats in high rise blocks. There was an area to park outside of the building so we did not have to carry the contents too far. We usually value house contents for probate prior to carrying out a property clearance, but in this case a probate valuation was not required.
Clearance Requirements
There were three requirements for this job: to remove all of the items; to look out for any items of value that the previous occupant had left behind and the new owner had not been able to find amidst all of the other items; and to provide a deep clean of the flat.
He wanted to give the flat to his son and was keen to start decorating it as soon as possible, so our clearance and cleaning service was the first stage.
Disposal of Contents
We had contacted a number of Farnham charities before hand to see if any of them would be interested in taking any of the property contents for their shops. As most of the property content was in poor to average condition, it was concluded that unfortunately none of the property content was suitable as charitable donations so it was all returned to our recycling centre.
