CLEARANCE DATE: 22nd June 2012

PROPERTY LOCATION: Park Road, Bracknell, Berkshire, RG12

CLEARANCE TYPE: Full flat clearance 2 apartments

PROPERTY TYPE: Two one-bedroom flats

Clearance Overview

This was a particularly challenging job because it involved clearing two separate flats at the same time, one on the second floor and one on the third floor, both of which were owned by the same person. Parking was very limited outside the building so we had to get permission from the council before we arrived. There was also only one lift for the building so we removed the items via the stairwell. The work took longer than usual because of the logistics. We usually value house contents for probate prior to carrying out a property clearance, but in this case a probate valuation was not required.

Clearance Requirements

The owner of the flats was aware that a certain amount of disruption was inevitable so he had warned the other residents in advance. We have lots of experience carrying out clearances in very difficult circumstances so there was no problem with this at all and we worked quickly and quietly. All the contents were to be removed apart from a table and chest of draws in the upper apartment. An allowance of one full day was imposed as builders were waiting to start work the following day.

Disposal of Contents

We carried the contents down the stairwell and were careful not to inconvenience the other residents unduly or damage any communal areas. We made sure that we did not go down in groups so that there was more space to use the stairs. We also worked quickly so we did not have to take up limited parking spaces on the road for too long. All the items were then separated for recycling and donation to charity where possible.

Client Comments

Our client a local man but now residing in nearby Caversham said “The guys really did a good job, I am very happy with how quickly and quietly the team worked. I’ve got another flat that needs clearing so I’ll be calling the team again soon.”
