In this recent Clapham house clearance the occupant had sadly passed on and we were instructed by the executor a family friend to completely clear the first floor flat concerned f all household furniture, effects, appliances and all other clutter that had accumulated throughout the apartment. It was well stocked to say the least with a large kitchen which was knee deep with papers, discarded clothing and food cartons. To the rear of the kitchen was a conservatory which was so full of household clutter, newspapers and gardening tools we were unable to access it so we had to remove the doors from their hinges to gain access. Amongst the hoarding and clutter we found some good items that could be reused or recycled.

The lady occupant had lived the first 25 years of her life in Thailand so there were many interesting items of furniture and collectables originating from that part of the world. A particularly nice mask made of feathers nicely framed in a glass and wooden case measuring one meter square which was carefully put to one side with all of the other useful and decorative objects with a view to reuse and even sell on with an allowance made accordingly. There were also some beautiful brass lanterns and light shades from morrocco which were also saved. An Art Deco bedroom sweet comprising of a wardrobe with a veneered sunburst in the front and matching chest of drawers, dressing table bed and bedside cabinets.
Two Days To Clear Including The loft
The house clearance took a total of two days due to the amount of time spent clearing the loft, and this area took a whole day on its own due to the vast amount within. We cleared over 100 black bags of clothing paper christmas decorations toys and more. The flat itself took another day by the time we had removed all items for retention and taken away all of the rubbish. Finally allowing 2 hours to clean and vacuum right through the property and down the stairs to the front door. We also swept the footpath clean upon completion.
The neighbor was very accommodating and allowed us to store items in the front of her garden while carrying the clearance. She even made us tea which was gratefully received.
